Who exactly IS this Daniel Parvis gent?

He's a photographer. He's an actor. He's a graduate of the University of Georgia. He's married to the redheaded girl of his dreams. He rides a motorcycle. He enjoys a whiskey every now and then. He loves his dogs and great coffee more than life itself. His images have appeared in The Atlanta Journal Constitution, Creative Loafing and Broadway World. As an actor, he is represented by People Store and has appeared in commercials, as well as numerous film and television projects including HBO’s Watchmen, FOX's Sleepy Hollow, BET's The Game, Lifetime's Drop Dead Diva and Let's Be Cops. In theatre, he has appeared onstage with Serenbe Playhouse, Theatrical Outfit, The Atlanta Shakespeare Company, Synchronicity Theatre, Stage Door Players, Georgia Ensemble Theatre and The Warehouse Theatre (Greenville, SC).

WHY shoot with daniel?

If you’re in the acting business, he’s the right guy for the job. Aside from creating technically appealing photos, he’s an actor as well and has a deep understanding for what we want to SAY through our headshot. This is your close up. We’re acting for the camera here, and we’re communicating our thoughts and emotions through non-verbal expression. It can be as simple as communicating “Hello, casting director! This is what I look like. I’m confident, friendly and professional and it’s great to meet you.” It can be more complex, such as “I’m exhausted from killing these zombies all day, everyday. I’ve got some demons and some heavy damage, but I have to stay strong and keep fighting the good fight to keep my friends and family alive. Oh, and you can tell from my ever so slight smile that I’m strong, confident, and super great at taking down the Z’s, and part of me kind of likes the job at this point.”

Daniel’s going to help guide you there to get the shots that you and your agent need to put you in the best light for the types of characters and projects you’re getting submitted for. Speaking of the best light, you may have noticed Daniel’s shots have a little something special going on. That’s because he uses a technique that combines mixing the ambient, or available light with studio strobes to create an image that is similar to how lighting is typically approached in film and television. Coupled with a landscape orientation (though he’ll shoot some verticals as well), you have a headshot that looks like it could be a still image pulled from whatever cool project you just wrapped. Your headshot has dimension, contrast, your eyes pop and burst with color and you never realized how amazing your cheekbones are, they’re like tiny mountains. The casting director has a very good idea of just what you look like on film, which is clearly AMAZING. Danny P, as they call him in the business, is also shooting your mug with pro-level gear- the one and only Canon 5d Mk IV and a piece of glass as big as your arm, and let’s just say Danny’s back is feelin’ it by the end of the shoot but he doesn’t even care because it’s so worth it. Daniel is recommended and often preferred by several of Atlanta’s top talent agencies, so if you’re trying to get your foot in the door…it doesn’t hurt to have a Daniel Parvis headshot backing up your submission. Oh, and Daniel also has a guarantee that in the extremely unlikely event your current agent and/or manager aren’t happy with the shots, we’ll set up a reshoot at no additional cost.

You’ll arrive at his home studio in Marietta, GA and meet his dogs (who will love you endlessly). While we finalize our plan and/or hang out with one of the many amazing hair and makeup artists he works with, he’ll make you a cup of tea. And when it’s go time he’ll blast your favorite tunes and shoot some killer headshots with you. It will likely be…the best day.

If you’re in the business-business, well you also picked the right guy. Because Daniel brings his upbeat energy, his technical expertise and his ultra-portable studio to you and your team. He knows the company photos day is probably and understandably a much dreaded day. But just like the actors who dread headshot day, Danny P loves being the guy who turns it all around and shows them that it can be quite painless, and dare I say…fun? He also knows y’all are super busy, so punctuality and efficiency are a thing. Lucky for you, he’s super into that. Say goodbye to awkward expressions and unflattering lighting, and hello to your whole team looking like a bunch of bosses who get the job done.
